Carnival of Roses 2020
The Carnival of Roses 2020 is one of the most anticipated parties of the year. This event is famous and attracts large number of visitants to the Costa Brava, but there is no doubt that the Carnival of Roses is the most especially relevant.
The carnival 2020 is finally here!
The Carnival will be held this year from February 20 night at 10 pm in the Catalonia square of Roses. Together, with the sound and popular band of Roses will begin until Rahola square, where the majesty (the kind of the Carnival), will be welcomed.
The traditional parade of floats starts at Friday night. It is nice and curios to see why the participating groups have assigned a number on the Rhode Avenue. Before starting the procession of floats they already have loud music and choreography. And at the end and if you love dancing you can go to the municipal pavilion of Roses to have a party.
The children’s parade floats of Roses are held on Saturday 22 at 4pm. This is the parade in which children participate with the adults and both re-fill in Rhode Avenue with colors, joy and fun.
Last Sunday is not for those people who left out the night before. At 12 am all the parade floats begin the party on Rhode Avenue again. And at 7:15 pm, the king and queen of the carnival, of the older people of the 2021 carnival will be proclaimed in the Sant Pere square of Roses.
On Monday the so called “Popular arrozada” is celebrated in which all carnivals groups. The come together and enjoy a broth rice prepared by the fishermen of Roses. If you want to go you have to buy an advance ticket.
The burning of the “carnestoltes”
Although there are many who would live eternally in a carnival but this has its end with the funeral farm of the burial of the sardine. In this act the doll (the carnestoltes) will be burned and the Carnival 2020 will be end.
Remember, for all those people who want to come t Roses during the Carnival you have to know that these days the access to the town will be more difficult or can even be restricted during the float parade hours.
